JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION FAR 6.302-1 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) This is a notice of the Government's intent to award a sole source action pursuant to the simplified acquisition procedures at FAR Part 13 and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy the Agency Requirements" to Nobel Biocare USA, LLC, 22715 Savi Ranch Parkway, Yorba Linda CA 92887. The sole source requirement is for Nobel Biocare Implant Parts that allows for the attachment of crowns, bridges and dentures. The Government has determined through market research that you cannot mix and match implants with parts from another company. Nobel Biocare is the only company capable of meeting the requirements. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting our requirement as stated herein may submit a capability statement, which if received within three (3) calendar days of the date of this announcement, may be considered. This notice satisfies the requirement of FAR 5.203 for publicizing contract opportunities and is NOT a notice for receipt of competitive quotes. Responses to this notice must be in writing and provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination not to award a sole source contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to James A.
