6515--Edward Lifescience Consignment Agreement Heart Valves and Annuloplasty Rings

Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Heart Valves and Annuloplasty Rings Pursuant to FAR Subpart 16.702 and 38 U.S.C Section 8123, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, Tampa, FL, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source to award a Blanket Purchase Agreement to Edwards Lifesciences, 100 Gran Boulevard, Paseos, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00926. This single award will establish a Consignment Agreement relationship on specific products required for immediate surgical procedures. Surgeons have determined specific products meet specific medical needs. This notice is not a request for quote and a solicitation will not be issued in conjunction with the notice of intent. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications. All Products Must Be FDA Approved. Description of Requirement: Heart Valves and Annuloplasty Rings (many sizes) One (1) VA Medical Center (VAMC) will be covered by this requirement: VA Caribbean Healthcare System 10 Calle Casia, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00921. The period of performance will be compiled with a Base Period with four one-year unilateral Option Periods.
