SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT FOR STERIS BRAND NAME ITEMS This acquisition is in support of the VA Cape Girardeau Health Care Center for ceiling mounted integrated equipment management systems. The Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC), National Activations Office (NAO) intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract to an OEM authorized distributor for Steris Booms and Lights on a competitive basis in pursuant with authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(2). Competition is restricted on this procurement due to only one responsible source and no other supplies or services that can satisfy agency requirements. Steris booms and lights equipment are currently in use at the primary care site that supports this CBOC. Acquiring the same equipment for VA Cape G will allow standardization with the same methodology and results for the VA staff at the primary care clinic, improving turnaround times and providing consistent results throughout the patient care record. Additionally, the ceiling mounted plates currently installed at the facility are only compatible with Steris equipment. The NAICS code for this procurement is 339113 and the Small Business Administration Size Standard is 750 employees. The anticipated timeframe for award is May 2021. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. No solicitation package will be issued. See attached for salient characteristics. Any responsible source may submit a quotation which may be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. All information submitted should support the respondent s capability to provide the items and that those items will meet the Government s technical requirements. To ensure compliance with VA s gray market requirements for medical equipment, respondents must document in their response that they are the OEM or an OEM-authorized distributor. The Government is under no obligation to reimburse respondents cost for responding to this notice. All documents submitted by respondents are furnished to the Government at no cost or obligation. Respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Firms may register with SAM at https://www.sam.gov. All responses received by the due date and time will be considered by the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. A determination by the Government to compete this brand name only requirement is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government.
