The contract is expected to be awarded under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 8.405-6(b) Items Peculiar To One Manufacturer. A Justification for Single Source Awards for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared. The anticipated award date is April 01, 2023. The Contractor shall provide upon request the Compella Bariatric Hospital Bed for patients diagnosed as obese at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Healthcare System. The Contractor shall deliver, set up, perform quality checks and preventative maintenance onsite as needed. The Contractor will provide a full service maintenance contract on bed, parts, technology, and shall immediately replace defective beds upon notification to ensure patient and staff safety. The Contractor shall notify the Charleston Nursing Service Department immediately should the inability arise to provide the Hillrom Compella Bariatric Hospital beds. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement within three (3) calendar days after publication of this notice. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
