The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a Sole Source basis with Intuitive Surgical, Inc., 950 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, to purchase from them the following Disposable Robotic Instruments to use with the VA's existing Intuitive Surgical daVinci Surgical Robot: Intuitive Surgical, Inc. Product Numbers: 420291 - 2ea; 420290 - 2ea; 420006 - 4ea; 420179 - 4ea; 420189 - 4ea; 420205 - 2ea; 420184 - 2ea; 420327 - 2ea. (Estimated total price $46,250). It is essential to the Government's needs that it purchases the above Intuitive Surgical, Inc. Disposable Robotic Instruments, since they are needed to be used with the VA's existing Intuitive Surgical daVinci Robot, and since no other company makes a similar product. It is also essential to purchase the above referenced Intuitive Surgical Single Site Procedures and Training Kits for the daVinci Robot, since Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is the sole seller of their instruments.
