The North Texas Health Care System intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Roche Diagnostics. The proposed contract action is for a procurement for 2 Kits of Stainer, DAB Detection solution, called the for the existing Ventana Benchmark System, which is utilized for Histology testing by Staff within the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service section located on the VANTHCS premises. The 2 kits of Stainer, DAB Detection Solution is manufactured by Roche Diagnostics (formerly Ventana Medical Systems, Inc., the sole manufacturer of the interventional Ventana Benchmark System. The Stainer, DAB detection solution is the only item that can interface with the existing interventional Ventana Benchmark System. This sole source action is in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer for consideration. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements. Responses are due by February 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM CST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
