The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 17 Network Contracting Activity, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract with Kinetic Concepts Inc., 8023 Vantage Drive, San Antonio Texas 78230-4769 for Wound Vacs. Location is the Central Veterans Health Care System 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, Temple, Texas 76504. NAICS 339112 applies. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C.253 (c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The described services and items must match the equipment currently in use at the Central VA Medical Center and only Kinetic Concepts Inc. can fulfill this requirement. No other company is expected to respond to the requirement. Kinetic Concepts Inc., is the sole proprietary manufacturer and does not use distributors or sub-license any portion of the product. Period of Performance shall be from 21 February 2014 - 30 September 2014. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. It is not a solicitation or request for offers.
