66--Leica TCS SP8 Multi-Photon Microscope compatible with the CLARITY Protocol

The VA Office of Research and Development, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center (RHJVAMC) Research Department intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Microsystems Inc. pursuant to FAR 6.302-1; for the purchase of a Leica TCS SP8 Multi-Photon Microscope. This microscope system has been specifically designed to meet the clinical and research needs based on the CLARITY technology protocol. The CLARITY protocol is already in place within the RHJVAMC Research facility, and this equipment is an integrated upgrade to the current system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than September 03, 2014, at 3:00PM, EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
