J--NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Chillicothe VA Medical Center Endoworks Software training and support service agreement

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only acknowledgment and a written solicitation will not be issued. This contract is being procured a sole source basis due to the fact that Olympus is the only source available to provide the software maintenance and training on the Endoworks software. Olympus is the manufacturer of this specialized medical software and equipment and it contains proprietary hardware and software. Software Support and training is required for the Olympus Endoworks Software which the facility already owns. No other known company offers software support and training for Endoworks. This is being procured on an unusual and compelling basis as a result of this being the only company available to provide the software maintenance and training on the Endoworks software. The contract duration is for twelve (12) months for the base year to include four (4) option years. This requirement is unrestricted-insufficient small business for commercial items under the North Atlantic Industrial Classification System (NAICS) 339112.
