6515--Catheter Balloons and Peripheral Stents Consignment Agreement with Boston Scientific Corp for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center located in Shreveport, LA

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA, intends to issue a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) with Boston Scientific Corporation, One Boston Scientific Place, Natick, MA 01760 for furnishing and maintaining an inventory of non-biological surgical implantable medical devices (Catheter Balloons and Peripheral Stents) on a consignment basis in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract/consignment agreement. The Justification and Approval for this action will be included as part of the award notice. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used and the resulting contract will be a firm fixed price contract. NAICS 339112 applies, and the small business size standard is 1000 employees. The contractor shall deliver to the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center at 510 E Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101, for the period of contract award for one year with four (4), one (1) year exercisable option periods. Supplies will be on a consignment, and the specified items are to be used by the VA Medical Center. Contractor shall ensure all items are available within ten (10) days of contract award. Items shall be stored in the Cardiac Catheter Lab/Medical Service at the Overton Brooks VA Medical. This special notice of intent serves as notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals, solicitation or a request for offers. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that a prospective offeror can fulfill the requirements of the solicitation and that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
