Maintenance Service Renewal Agreement and the Shelving Gutter Systems Installation

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using the simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 13 to acquire maintenance services and preserve an existing warranty, in addition to acquiring installation of a shelving gutter system for Band Music Library in support of United States Marine Band, located in Washington, District of Columbia. The government intends to award a sole source contract for the above supplies/services for which the government intends to solicit only one source. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Spacesaver Systems Inc. Maintenance Service Renewal Agreement and the Shelving Gutter Systems Installation is essential to meet the Government's needs and required in order to match the existing maintenance service agreement and retain the manufacturer's existing lifetime warranty on the shelving units. To utilize another manufacturer for the required services, Spacesaver Systems Inc., will not be responsible for loss of use of the equipment or for any other liabilities arising for alterations, adjustments or repairs which are made by other than authorized representative of Spacesaver Systems Inc. Any such alterations, additions, adjustments or repairs will adversely affect Spacesaver Systems Inc ability to render maintenance service to the equipment reserve the warranty. There are no other possible substitutes available under these circumstances for this requirement. DURATION: This requirement will be for an initial shelving gutter system installation and a maintenance agreement with a base year with four (4) one-year options for the upkeep of the Band Music Library Spacesaver shelving units. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is within the discretion of the Government.
