Description Region 6 currently has four (4) Shorts C-23As used as smokejumper aircraft. In 1998 the engines (PT-6A-45Rs) on these aircraft were overhauled and included a 10 year service life warranty (1998 through 2008). The aircraft engine warranty is void if work is performed other than the original dealer or authorized representative of the dealer. Costs associated with normal scheduled maintenance, such as hot section inspections is the responsibility of the operator. It is our intent, in order to maintain the engine warranty, to sole source these services with the original dealer as of December 01, 2005.
