Notice of Intent to Negotiate a Sole Source ContractThe National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) currently owns and operates two Boeing 737-400 aircraft that have been modified and configured in a =BFcombi=BF configuration capable of hauling both passengers and cargo during the same flights. In order for NNSA to access Boeing technical engineering data and data hosting services (electronic access to that data), Boeing requires that a fee be paid for continued technical and data hosting support because aircraft conversions were performed by a company other than Boeing. These services are only available through the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), The Boeing Company. Access to the above information is vital for NNSA=BFs continued maintenance of the aircraft. This announcement serves as notification of the U.S. Department of the Interior=BFs intent to negotiate a sole source contract with The Boeing Company from Seattle, WA for continued access to technical engineering and data hosting services support for NNSA=BFs Boeing 737-400 aircraft. All reasonable sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation by the closing date of this announcement (May 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. local time Boise, ID) which shall be considered by the Agency. The Agency anticipates award of a contract by May 9, 2012.
