Product Manager Small Power Sources is seeking industry feedback on the draft Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) Purchase Description (See Attachment). The feedback will be considered when weighing the design tradeoffs before the final Purchase Description is released. The STEP program's key performance parameters are power quality, fuel consumption, reliability, maintainability, and weight. While all requirements in the draft Purchase Description are desired, requirements that drive the design away from the key performance parameters may be adjusted. The Product Manager is seeking feedback identifying any requirements that could cause meeting key performance parameters to be unachievable. The Product Manager is also seeking feedback identifying any requirements that are unclear, unachievable, or excessive cost drivers. Recommendations for other areas of Purchase Description improvements may also be considered. All feedback should be as detailed and specific as possible.
