Purchase a DNAnexus Bioinformatic Cloud Computing Platform with FedRAMP Moderate certification

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Office of Science and Technology Resources, Genome Analysis Unit plans to procure, on a sole source a Bioinformatic Cloud Computing Platform with FedRAMP Moderate certification system. The Genome Analysis Unit (GAU), located in Bldg. 37 on the main NIH Campus provides bioinformatics support to a wide variety of NCI/CCR investigators. A major component of this work is to enable CCR investigators, with minimal computational expertise, to perform complex and novel data analyses on their own behalf. GAU requires the services of a vendor who can provide a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that will allow, rapid easy development and deployment of complex bioinformatic pipelines in a cloud environment, within which data can be manipulated. and the results viewed, via a simple Web-based user-environment. Additionally, given the likelihood of PII/PHI data will reside on the DNAnexus Cloud Platform, maximum security and FedRamp moderate certification is required. Several applications have already been developed on the DNAnexus platform during a pilot phase (in 2019) and continuing with the same vendor will ensure continuity with already developed workflows and minimize potential batch effects for data already analyzed on this system.
