70 -- Spectra Logic Maintenance Support

The United States Department of Agriculture, Washington Communications and Technology Services Customer Support Branch, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to SPECTRA LOGIC CORPORATION, 170 N 55th St. Boulder, CO, for 24 hour onsite hardware and software maintenance support for T120, 3LTO2, 1QIP, 50 Slot, s/n 0535505. Spectra Logic is the sole source provider for all re-certifications performed on tape libraries manufactured by Spectra Logic, and that all service contracts are handled directly through Spectra Logic. Period of Performance will be October 20, 2007 to October 19, 2008. This noncompetitive action will be processed in accordance with FAR 6.301-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy Agency requirements). THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. All inquiries and concerns must be addressed in writing via e-mail to: [email protected] by NLT 10:00 a.m. on September 7, 2007. Telephone inquiries will not be honored. The decision not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competion would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Currently, fiscal year 2008 funds are not available. The Government anticipates receiving funds. If funds are not received by the Government for this procurement, the Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with submission of information in response to this synopsis.
