J--Small Business Event. Repair and bring two heat treat furnaces up to operational condition.

This notice is being published in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101 requiring the dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals. The statutory authority for this procurement is 10 u.s.c. 2304(c)(1) as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1. The Contracting Office for the 167 AW, West Virginia Air National Guard, intends to issue a sole-source, firm fixed price purchase order to Lucifer Furnaces, Inc. for repairing two heat treat furnaces and bringing them up to operational condition. The furnaces were manufactured by Lucifer Furnaces, Inc and repair parts must be purchased from them, because there are no distributors for the items. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all repsonses received by Monday, 28 January 2013 at 12:00 P.M. EST. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona-fide capability to fulfill the requirement.
