J--J - A C-5 staircase truck was shipped to the base and, in route, the truck driver struck the top of the staricase structure on a low bridge, severely damaging the functionality of the staircase portion of the truck.

This notice is being published in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation(FAR) part 5.101(a)(2)(ii) requiriing the dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract and is not a request for compeititive proposals. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). The Contracting Office for the 167AW, West Virginia Air National Guard, intends to issue a sole-source, firm fixed price purchase order to Stinar Corporation for the purchase of necessary repair parts which must be custom manufactured for the 2011 F750 C-5 staircase truck. Stinar Corporation is the original and sole manufacturer of the damaged components for this unique piece of equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, the government shall consider all responses received by Friday, 10 April 2014 at 1000AM EST. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona-fide capability to fulfill the requiement.
