69--Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source purchase order for Training Target Set.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD -- The Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training & Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Orlando, FL, hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to METTERS INDUSTRIES, INC. for a Training Target Set (TTS). The purpose of this procurement is 104 pieces, of various dimensions and unique landmine signatures, including 6 ruggedized transit/storage cases. The TTS is a family of 104 standardized anti-personnel (AP) and anti-tank (AT) landmine simulants whose dimensions, dielectric properties and metal content are similar to many actual metallic and low-metallic mines. Individual training targets from the TTS are selected and buried in a manner replicating the combat mission scenario selected for the countermine training. The OEM (METTERS INDUSTRIES, INC.) specifically developed this unique landmine simulant for the US Army. PEO STRI is the designated source of supply in the Federal Stock System; however, this item is non-stocked by PEO STRI. This is a one-time sole source purchase for the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDO) at Ft. Irwin. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 13.501(a). This announcement constitutes the only notice. The NAICS code for this procurement is 332999. Any comments or questions must be submitted in writing. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation or a request for proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
