Description: The United States Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 41 USC 1901(e), implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) – “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements”. This determination is based upon required thermo-mechanical processing for U-3/4 Ti alloy, fabrication of parts to desired finish, satisfying ballistic performance analysis objectives, and national security requirements. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee (AOT), Inc., 1367 Old State Route 34, Jonesborough, Tennessee 37659-6315, United States (CAGE: 7U273), for 20 non-commercial U-3/4 Ti Penetrators and one (1) Stainless Steel Penetrator of the same design. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government does not intend to use Part 12 for this acquisition.
