47--Intent to award a contract to High Pressure Equipment Company

Introduction: Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the US Army WARSTAR directorate, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to: High Pressure Equipment Company, 1222 Linden Ave, Erie, PA 16505. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE. RESPONSES WILL BE USED FOR FUTURE ACQUISITIONS ONLY. 1. Nature and description of the supplies or services required to meet the agency's needs: Gauge P/N 6PG150, MFR: HIP (1) O-Ring Closure REactor (one piece Cover) P/N R1.5-16-150 (1) Ultra High Pressure Elbow P/N 150-22xf6 (20) Ultra High Pressure Check Tee P/N 150-23xf6 (4) Ultra High Pressure Tubing P/N 150-9x6 (30) Ultra High Pressure 150,000 psi service Manual Shutoff Valves P/N 150-11xf6 (18) Ultra High Pressure Check Valves P/N 150-41xf6 (4) 2. A demonstration that the proposed contractor is the only source available to provide these services or goods (i.e. unique qualifications, proprietary rights, etc.): High Pressure Equipment Company is the only vendor known to us that can provide the required equipment. 3. A description of the market research that was conducted and the results, or a statement of the reason a market research was not conducted: Parts are manufactured by High Pressure Company and no other known vendors manufacture parts which will work in conjunction with systems in place at Natick Soldier Systems Center. 4. Any other facts supporting the use of other than full and open competition: None 5. A statement of the actions, if any, the agency may take to remove or overcome any barriers to competition before any subsequent acquisition for the supplies or services required: None 6.
