89--Special Notice

This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order. The statutory authority for this sole-source procurement is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The U.S Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division intends to issue a firm fixed price purchase order to Kuraray America, Inc.,Houston, Texas for 2000 barrier assembled Meals Ready to Eat entree pouches consisting of Kurarister-CF high barrier film laminated to AMPAC cast polypropylene film. These pouches have been developed as part of previous research and development efforts in high barrier food packaging. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 326112.
