Modification to purchase additional Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to modify contract 200-2009-30162 to Emergent Biodefense Operations Lansing, Inc. for the sole source purchase of doses of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensed Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed (AVA, also known commercially as Biothrax). Emergent is the only FDA licensed provider of AVA. Emergent's manufacturing processes have been validated and are approved by the FDA (BLA-License Number 1755, STN 103821). This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. It is the Government's belief that only one responsible source exists and no other product or services will satisfy agency requirements. The following requirement is for the Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS), Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR). The purpose of this contract modification is to purchase 3,420,000 doses of 4 year dated AVA. If 5 year dated product becomes available prior to delivery, Emergent shall provide 5 year dated AVA.
