High resolution genetic information will allow NWRC to quantify the genetically determined susceptibility of feral swine populations to African swine fever (ASF), a pathogen also of great importance for domestic pig production. Understanding acquired through the analysis of genetic patterns will inform future disease surveillance and guide future feral swine eradication efforts.
