The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, intends to negotiate a five year sole-source contract with Ventana Medical Ssytems, INC., 1910 E. Innovation Park Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85755 on or around November 1, 2014. The Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center is seeking to procure reagents to be used in the Histology department. The vendor is Ventana Medical Systems INC, whose reagents is currently onsite and validated for use in the facilities histology department and instrumentation. Ventana Medical is a member of the Roche group. They develop, manufacture, and market instrument reagent systems that automate tissue and slide staining in anatomic pathology laboratories. These products assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and infectious diseases. Alcian Yellow Staining Kit by Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. is for use on the BenchMark Special Stains automated slide staining instruments. Alcian Yellow Staining Kit is intended for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use as a qualitative histologic stain for Helicobacter pylori in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue.
