65--Intent to Sole Source Unit Dose Syringes of Radium-223 Chloride (Xofigo) for the Durham VA Medical Center

The VISN 6 Network Contracting Office (NCO 6), Durham VA Medical Center intends to award a sole source delivery order to Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals. The requirement is to deliver radiopharmaceutical unit dose syringes of Radium-223 Chloride (Xofigo) for primary use on VA patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. The standard of care provided must be in accordance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Joint Commission (JC). This requirement will be awarded to the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) holder Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceutical as a Firm Fixed Price delivery order with three (3) option year periods of performance as a noncompetitive basis of award, as authorized or required by Statute FAR Part 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) Limited Sources - Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.
