39 -- FPI - FSC Code 3990 Update

On August 26, 2005, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI) published a “good faith” notice in the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) regarding wood pallets under Federal Supply Classification (FSC) Code 3990, Miscellaneous Materials Handling Equipment. In this notice, FPI proposed to manufacture wood pallets for sale competitively to the Department of Defense (DOD), without mandatory source. Upon further consideration, FPI has decided to withdraw its request to manufacture wood pallets at this time. On October 19, 2005, FPI notified its Board of this action. Interested parties can request a copy of the memorandum sent by FPI staff to the FPI Board of Directors.
