--Kevlar KM2 Style 706 Woven Fabric with CS898 Finish

Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, and utilizing FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures the U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick , MA on behalf of the United States Army  Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to modify existing purchase order number W911QY-05-P-0565, awarded to Hexcel Schwebel, 2200 South Murray Avenue, Anderson, South Carolina, 29622. This effort is provide t he Government with an additional 3,198 yards of Kevlar KM2 Style 706/CS898 woven fabric. The specific fabric sought, Kevlar KM2 yarn, is a proprietary DuPont product and is rated by them. Hexcel Schwebel was identified by DuPont as the weaver that they would supply sufficient materials to in order to produce the required quantity of fabric. G iven the urgent need to obtain this fabric, Hexcel Scwebels proprietary rights in the specific design/finish sought, and Hexcel Schwebels ability to obtain sufficient material to produce the required quantity of the fabric, the contract will be awarded t o Hexcel Scwebel.
