Draft Specification for Whole Shelled Almonds for use in Domestic Food Assistance Programs

The Agricultural Marketing Service proposes to create a new Section 32 Specification for Whole Shelled Almonds. This new specification would replace the existing Amendment 1 to the Commodity Specification for Shelled Tree Nuts and clarify requirements for types of almonds accepted for purchase, treatment options, analytical/microbial requirements and methods, packaging, and amend the technical kit reference document provided by the Almond Board of California.
