This is a Request for Information (RFI). DLA Troop Support is requesting the beef industry to provide us with feedback on the use of the USDA National Meat Carlot Report for solicitation SPE300-13-R-1014.

This is a Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201(b) Exchanges With Industry Before Receipt of Proposals. DLA Troop Supports is issuing this RFI to obtain responses from the beef industry regarding the USDA National Meat Carlot Report for Solicitation SPE300-13-R-1014. The Government intends to use the information provided for planning purposes and to help make strategic pricing decisions pertaining to the subject acquisition. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any expenses associated with responding to this RFI. This RFI does not constitute a commitment from the Government. Information provided in response to this request will be used for informational purposes only and will not be released. Vendor participation is not a promise for future business with the Government. The sole purpose of this RFI is to conduct Market Research. Please refer to the attached, Exhibit 1, comprising the monthly USDA National Meat Carlot Report (Tab 1) and the Schedules of Supplies (Tab 2). For this RFI, DLA Troop Support is requesting industry to agree on the use of the USDA National Meat Carlot Report (Tab 1). Each corresponding line item in the Schedules of Supplies (Tab 2) relates to the USDA National Meat Carlot Report (Monthly). The National USDA Meat Carlot Report will be provided to DLA Troop Support Subsistence on a monthly basis; the Contracting Officer will average this USDA monthly data on a quarterly basis; and this average price, will be used to adjust the awardee's base price for each line on the Schedule of Supplies. Upon review of the responses, DLA Troop Support will determine if there is significant interest from respondents to proceed with further evaluation of the USDA National Meat Carlot Report. If DLA Troop Support determines through its review that the USDA National Meat Carlot Report would not be in the best interest of the Government, then DLA Troop Support will proceed with the Economic Price Adjustment (EPA).
