The U.S. Coast Guard Facilities Design and Construction Center, Atlantic is seeking comments on whether their proposed FY 08 $13M project to construct a new indoor Aquatic Training Facility for the Aviation Technical Training Center , Elizabeth City, NC be executed using a design/build or design, bid, build process. Your responses should include rationale to support your position. This facility will be dedicated for the purpose of supporting the U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer Training program. The pool is estimated to be 50 meter by 25 meter with a 12 foot deep end. The pool shall have an elevated platform, pool temperature control, a METS ?dunker? to simulate egress from a downed helicopter or plane, underwater viewing points, rotor wash simulator, and have a wave generator to simulate open water conditions. The facility shall have an inclement weather physical training room, wet and dry storage, male and female locker/shower facilities, classrooms, space for parachute packing training, room for drying parachutes, office space, compressed air for SCUBA and raft inflation, oxygen lab, and soundproofing in some areas.
