Electrical and Construction Services at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's Chicago Regional Office

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price contract to Norseman Defense Technologies (herein known as Norseman). Norseman is currently under contract with the SEC to provide adequate power for the SEC-Chicago data center room located on the 9th floor at 175 West Jackson. The existing contract includes all facilities construction and building improvements required to support the computer room upgrade for standardization. The additional work covered by this notice includes installation of a 20kW UPS system with racks and ISX488995-023 hardware in the computer room. To have continuity of services and to assure schedule integrity, it is essential that Norseman install the additional work simultaneously with the original work which allows: (1) both systems to be installed at the same time; (2) the SEC to save time and administrative cost by using the same building permit; (3) the SEC to utilize the same set of approved building plans to complete the project in its entirety; (4) the work is to be performed in a confined area which would restrict and possibly confuse work performed by multiple contractors. The period of performance shall be through the completion of the project. The SEC intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements. This is a Notice of Intent, not a solicitation. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement and no other information will be provided.
