Sole Source Justification for Well Pump and Motor Repairs

Soliciting from a Single Source In accordance with FAR 13.106 (b)(1)(i) for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold: Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). JUSTIFICATION FOR SINGLE SOURCE The well pumps and potable water system at Detroit Ranger District have been served for many years by R. Stadeli & Sons. They have the knowledge of the system and are close to the ranger district which makes them the priority choice to do the repairs in this urgent situation. The compound of 21 buildings and over 60 personnel rely on the potable water from this system for their drinking, sanitation, and firefighting needs. We cannot afford to have this system down for too long so quick and timely repairs are essential. Based on the above authority and justification it's hereby deemed that only one source is reasonably available. Well pump repair will be solicited directly from R. Stadeli & Sons.
