Detention Space Availability for Contingency Planning (ODT-9-S-0001) The Office of the Federal Detention Trustee OFDT is in the process of developing an internal report, to be updated monthly, showing large blocks of vacant detention space that could be used to meet unanticipated emergency detention needs. Detention space owned and operated or just operated by private detention companies could play a major part in this contingency planning initiative. This is not a solicitation announcement. Currently, no solicitation is available and none may result as a result of this initiative. This request for information does not commit the Government to pay any cost incurred in preparation of any submission to this market research analysis. The purpose of this request for information is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources that can: 1) Provide information on individual detention facilities that have a minimum of 250 vacant and operational detention beds at the time the information is reported. (Two draft reporting formats are attached for review and comment) 2) Update this information on a monthly basis. ** Construction of new facilities or additions to existing facilities are not to be included in these submissions ** If and when these vacant detention beds are needed, appropriate existing or new acquisition vehicles will be utilized at that time. All interested offerors will be required to respond to the solicitation announcements that might result as a result of this information. It is the potential offeror’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any solicitation or synopsis generated as a result of the information being requested in this announcement.
