This is a sources sought notice for a potential requirement to procure folding ballistic shields to support the Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) Police Department's mission. As part of its market research, the Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI) is issuing this notice to determine if an adequate number of contractors exist that are capable of producing a ballistic shield that meets the following requirements: Size: 19 quote mark x 34 quote mark Must not exceed 28 lbs Meets or exceeds NIJ Level 3 certification Must fold up Must contain a viewport The Government may use the responses to this notice for information and planning purposes. The description above describes only a potential requirement and may vary from the actual requirement if a Request for Quotation (RFQ) is issued. This notice is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of the Army Contracting Command - Rock Island's market research. No RFQ exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the RFQ or provide a quote back to the Government. Responses to this notice are not quotes on which the ACC-RI can issue a purchase order for. All information received in response to this notice marked quote mark Proprietary quote mark will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Responses to this notice will not be returned. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this notice. Consequently, ACC-RI will not pay for information received. There is no commitment by the Government to issue an RFQ, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by industry responses to this notice.
