This is a Sources Sought Notice to determine the availability a of potential Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB) or any other small business firms for a small business category type set-aside. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Sierra Pacific Network VISN 21, is conducting market research to determine potential sources that possess the skills, capabilities, and experience necessary to furnish Laundry/Linen Cleaning Services for VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System, 1000 Locust Street, Reno, Nevada, 89502. The performance period is anticipated to include a Base Year (October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013) and four one-year options. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, supplies, transportation, facilities and resources necessary, with the exception of Government-furnished property and services, to launder, deliver, and pickup soiled and contaminated laundry/linen to include, but not limited to, uniforms, general linen, OR linen, patient clothing, mops, etc, in accordance with the performance work statement. The contractor's facility must be within close proximity to provide daily services Monday through Friday. The Contractor shall accomplish all work under sanitary conditions as specified by the Joint Commission (TJC), the National Association of Institutional Linen Management (NAILM), Dry cleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI), Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA), Federal, State, and Local regulations and codes. The Contractor must possess a minimum of 3 years experience providing hospital laundry pickup and delivery services within the past 5 years. The experience must have been acquired by regular performance in a hospital or medical facility. The Government will consider only firms that can provide evidence of their capabilities and will conduct a site visit of the contractor's facility prior to award. The capabilities will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining the appropriate acquisition strategy. Capability to perform a contract of this magnitude and complexity and comparable work performed within the past 5 years. Description of project, customer name, project dollar value, etc. Provide at least three examples. 3. Type of small business (e.g., SDVOSB, VOSB, WOSB, HUBZone, SDB). The Capabilities Statement for this sources sought is not expected to be a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach, but rather short statements regarding the company's ability to demonstrate experience in relation to the areas specified herein.
