The Northern Region Contracting Center, Mission Support Division, Fort Leavenworth, KS, is providing notice of intent to award a sole source contract to John McWethy. The service to be contracted is support to Command General Staff College (CGSC) Fo rt Leavenworth, KS for a Media Senior Mentor. The contractor shall provide Media Senior Mentor support for CGSC an estimated 3 to 4 times per year for 3 to 5 day periods on the subject of military - media relations through mentoring and lecturing students and faculty, participation in student exercises, and by providing feedback on curriculum, research focus, relevant readings and lesson development in media and military relations. Period of performance is one year from date of award, with two optional one year periods of performance exercisable at the discretion of the Government. All qualified, interested contractors responding to this notice must address all areas of their expertise relevant to this requirement. The contractors personnel shall have Minimum Qualifications as follows: extensive experience as a broadcast or print m edia member working in the Pentagon and in the field (experiencing a multitude of U.S. military operations), and demonstrated command (both oral and written) of the English Language. The Media Senior Mentor needs experience as a Pentagon and national secu rity correspondent, recent experience in Afghanistan and Iraq, recent experience working with the Department of Homeland Security, and recent experience working with the Military. The contractor shall provide management and daily oversight of its personne l supporting this CGSC requirement. This is a new requirement and will be set out in a Request for Proposal (RFP), which will be provided to qualified respondents if sole source award is determined to be inappropriate.
