R--Amendment to Sources Sought Notice to Provide a Source for a Contract Pilot Program of Centrally-Managed Worker's Compensation Insurance as required by the Defense Base Act (DBA).

The Washington, DC based Industry Forum planned for 29 March 2004 was delayed as a result of a request from the Industry that another date be scheduled for the Forum because of a conflict with a previously scheduled meeting. The alternate date has n ot been determined. An additional initiative, as requested by the Industry, for individual respondent information-gathering with Office Secretary of Defense (OSD) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, prior to release of any solicitation and prior to the Industry Forum, for all respondents, was instituted with the first meeting with a respondent on 23 April 2004. The individual information-gathering meetings will be completed NLT 15 May 2004. The original intent of the Synopsis and effort to look into th e feasibility of a Centrally-Managed DBA Pilot Insurance Program was for the Corps of Engineers to develop a business case for assessment by OSD. The making of a decision on the release of a solicitation remains unchanged. The decision analysis of OSD to release or not to release a solicitation as supported by the business case will begin immediately after the 15 May 2004 information-gathering meetings are completed and end NLT 30 May 2004.
