H -- Sources Sought for Commercial Storage and Handling and Distribution Facilities

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Service Agency (FSA) will be seeking in the near future a qualified source(s) for a potential performance based commercial services contract to 1) receive and store commodities (dry, cooler, freezer) for multi-food shipments; 2) accept orders from eligible recipient agencies via internet based ordering system, and 3) deliver the food to eligible recipient agencies. FSA is seeking to establish and implement a performance based services contract(s) within the United States and its Trust Territories with a facility(ies) to receive and store in household pack sizes commodities purchased by USDA for a multi-food shipment program. The facility must be able to accept orders directly from eligible recipients of federally mandated commodity feeding programs, via an internet-based ordering system. In addition, the commercial facility will be responsible for delivery of food to designated locations. The various food items have different temperature requirements, and the facility must have the capability of making deliveries in conveyances that can handle food items with different temperature requirements. Shipments will consist of mixed commodities in full and less than truckload quantities, with a potential for dry, cooler, and freezer foods in a single truck. The facility will be required to report all product ordered and delivered to the eligible recipient agencies to USDA on a monthly basis. The scope of this potential project has yet to be determined (regional or national). More information will be provided in the near future.
