89 -- Invitation to Attend Round Table Discussion of Produce Options for Defense Commissary Agency, CONUS Locations

The purpose of this sources sought notice is to perform market research to gain knowledge of the capabilities of potential sources. If after review of the responses obtained to this round table discussion, the Government intends to proceed with an acquisition, a pre-solicitation synopsis will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website. Response to this notification is not an adequate response to any future solicitation for the commodity described in this synopsis. The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is seeking interested sources capable of providing assorted fresh fruits and vegetables for all of its commissary locations and is soliciting industry input on the various concepts of how to best meet this goal. An industry round table discussion will be convened on January 25, 2005. The round table discussion is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., in the Board Room, at DeCA, 1300 E. Avenue, Fort Lee, Virginia 23801-1800. All interested participants are invited. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss all suggestions, recommendations, questions, and concerns, as they relate to the establishment of a DeCA Fresh Fruits and Vegetable (FF & V) Program to meet DeCA’s goal of the best quality at the best price. Private discussion periods may be scheduled for after the round table on January 26th and 27th to discuss any proprietary concerns. DeCA operates 272 stores with a produce volume of over $350 million in the United States, Europe, and the Far East. The round table discussion will be recorded.
