22--Sources Sought notice for Locomotive and Rail Cars along with support services

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR SOLICITATION. INFORMATION WILL BE USED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Directorate of Contracting, Fort Lee, Virginia is submitting these sources sought on behalf of our customer the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCCOM and the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCOE), Fort Lee, Virginia. CASCOM SCOE is seeking to purchase approximately three locomotives and ten passenger rail cars for the future transport of soldiers to and from Fort Lee, Virginia to Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. The government also intends to seek contractual support (more than one contract is contemplated) to include but not limited to, utilization of existing rail lines within the state of Virginia; maintenance/inspection/certification of rail lines within Fort Lee, Virginia; services to support the transport of locomotive and rail cars to include conductors, etc.; maintenance/inspection and certification of locomotives and railcars; building of platform and housing for locomotives and rail cars within Fort Lee, Virginia. Potential sources interesting in supporting all or some of these potential initiatives shall identify if they are registered in the contractor central registration database (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov and identify potential NAISC codes that might be utilized for each of these potential initiatives. Information will be used for market research purposes only but may be used to assist the federal government in generating one or more requirements to support these potential initiatives.
