The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command- New Jersey, Joint Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Army Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), is conducting market research to locate companies interested in entering into a contract with the U.S. Government. Interested sources shall be able to provide a High Speed, Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Horizontal Lathe with X and Y axis milling capability to Picatinny's Small Caliber Manufacturing Cell. This piece of industrial plant equipment will provide a dedicated capability to manufacture punches and dies to support the Bullet Assembly Machine and other equipment in the Small Caliber manufacturing cell. Listed below are some of the major requirements: 1) Lathe turret must be able to utilize/share ARDEC's current inventory of Live-milling heads (Axial, radial, multi-head axial and radial) for the tool turret. These heads were originally procured to be used in Mori Seiki NL2500Y machining centers. 2) Max.
