This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. The synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The 526 ICBMSG/PKA, Hill AFB, Utah is seeking potential sources to develop, test, deliver and install a Linear Acceleration Vibrator System at Honeywell, Clearwater FL. The Linear Acceleration Vibrator System will be utilized for dynamic testing of the Pendulous Integrating Gyroscopic Accelerometer (16-PIGA) inertial instrument used in the Minuteman-III Weapon System. It will provide precisely defined dynamic acceleration exposure to the instrument under test. This acceleration exposure is necessary to determine modeling terms for the 16-PIGA in support of engineering investigations. The system will also be used in assisting engineers in the determination of the true condition of the instrument and support failure investigations of intermittent field failures. Some of the performance requirements include: single degree of freedom acceleration in a horizontal plane with a maximum displacement of 10 inches within the 5 ? 100 Hz frequency range; +/- 1dB, 10-100 Hz frequency response; maximum acceleration of 13 +/- 0.1 g?s in the 10 ? 25 Hz range with less than 4% total harmonic distortion in the acceleration waveform; less than 0.05% cross axis acceleration; magnetic field at the gyro ? less than 5 gauss. Contract work must demonstrate the Linear Acceleration Vibrator System robustness and repeatability. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPORSALS (RFP).
