[email protected] (11) A. Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements in section C are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. B. The contractor shall provide a Topspin - Precession Electron Diffraction (PED) system as well as install the PED system to the existing JOEL 2100F TEM and ensure both are full operable once installed. Additionally, the Topspin system shall meet the following characteristics: - An automatic crystallographic indexing and orientation/phase mapping tool. - The tool shall have the ability to determine orientation and/or phase type with a resolution of 1 nanometer up to 1 micron. - The tool shall be capable of being incorporated into a pre-existing JOEL 2100F Field Emission Gun (FEG) - Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). - The tool shall include identifying grain boundary type and grain size distribution with nanometer detail as well as generating relative pole figures. - Finally, the tool shall utilize electron beam precession diffraction for obtaining diffraction patterns in a manner to generate at a minimum 25 % more diffraction spots than conventional Selected Area Electron Diffraction (SAED) while also preventing dynamical effects (such as Kikuchi lines) from being generated. The contractor will require access to the Rodman Research building located on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) Army installation. To receive access, the contractor is required to provide all information required for background checks to meet installation access requirements to be accomplished by installation Provost Marshal Office, Director of Emergency Services or Security Office. - Access and general protection/security policy and procedures. This standard language is for contractor employees with an area of performance within Army controlled installation, facility, or area. Contractor and all associated sub-contractors employees shall provide all information required for background checks to meet installation access requirements to be accomplished by installation Provost Marshal Office, Director of Emergency Services or Security Office.
