A--REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - HOMER - ETU LASER OPTICAL BENCH

This is a modification to the synopsis entitled HOMER-ETU-RFI-2011 which was postedon November 30, 2010. You are notified that the following questions were received andanswer are provided:Q. There are many components that make up the optical bench assembly. These appear toconsist of a motorized rotation stage and a number of lens and mirror mounts. Are theseelements likewise made from Beryllium? Should we consider these elements as part of ourtechnical response and cost estimate?A. There are no motorized rotation stages in the optical bench assembly. The opticalmounts are planned to be titanium (not Beryllium). Vendor proposals that include thecost for the optical mounts and other components of the optical bench assembly can besubmitted, but costs should be clearly itemized. In addition, a proposal for opticalmounts fabricated from alternative materials that meet the requirements may also beproposed.The due date for responses is not extended.Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. Thesedocuments will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWWbrowser application.
