93--Target Paper for DLA

This is a sources sought notice for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as a commitment on the part of the Government for any purpose. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. The Government will utilize this information provided only to develop the acquisition strategy for future requirements. The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Rock Island, IL is potentially seeking the purchase of the below target paper. The yearly target paper breakdown is approximately as follows: 1. Type I Rolls, qty 510,000 lbs 2. Type II Rolls, qty 210,000 lbs 3. Type I Cut Sheet 24' x 42', qty 60,000 lbs 4. Type II Cut Sheet 22.5' x 35', qty 315,000 lbs 5. Type II Cut Sheet 23' x 34.875', qty 160,000 lbs 6. Type II Cut Sheet 23.5' x 39.5', qty 280,000 lbs 7. Type II Cut Sheet 26.5' x 36.5', qty 57,000 lbs 10% quantity variance may be anticipated. Also, an additional two option years may be requested. Please note that if a solicitation is issued for the target paper, all interested vendors will be required to submit samples of both Type I and Type II target paper (8" x 11") IAW MIL-SPEC MIL-P-10831B. Interested parties must include a capability statement as well as point of contact that can provide information as requested. To be considered in the development of the acquisition strategy for these products and services, information must be submitted by close of business 10 June 2011.
