Fluid Milk for Commissaries located in the Southeast

Synopsis: This is not a solicitation or request for proposals. This is Sources Sought Synopsis only; no contract will be awarded from this synopsis. The NAICS Code is 311511 Fluid Milk. The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is seeking fluid milk manufacturers, who can provide whole, 2%, 1%, and skim milk in gallon, half gallon, and quart sized containers to our commissaries located in the Southeast. The vendor would also need to provide these commissaries with acidophilus milk along with half gallons of 2% chocolate milk. Additional support includes point of sale material, recipe cards, pamphlets, nutritional facts, or other consumer related material. DeCAs commissaries are government-owned facilities designed to operate similar to commercial retail supermarkets that provide food items and other merchandise for resale to the military and their families at a cost savings when compared to the same or similar products sold in the commercial retail markets. Interested sources are required to respond to this Sources Sought Synopsis by submitting a Vendor Information Package to the Contracting Office NOT LATER THAN 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time on May 21, 2010 The Vendor Information Package should include: 1) A completed questionnaire (see attachments) 2) Examples of projects worked within the last five years of similar size, scope and complexity as the work indicated in the proposed procurement.
