Green Mountain National Forest FY22 Timber Stand Improvement & Site Preparation

It is the intent of this solicitation and any resulting contract to secure services for timber stand improvement (crop tree release) and site preparation treatments. Item 0001 shall include site preparation work for natural regeneration (tree felling) and any resulting required slash disposal work. Item 0002 shall include timber stand improvement (tree felling) and any resulting required slash disposal work. The Contractor shall furnish tools, labor, equipment, and supervision unless otherwise provided herein. Location and Description The project locations are on the Rochester and Manchester Ranger Districts of the Green Mountain National Forest. Work locations will be shown on vicinity and unit specific maps. Item 0001 These units are timber sale units harvested within the last year. Harvest activities included clearcut, single tree selection, group openings, shelterwood, and improvement harvests. Unit boundaries are identified with orange paint or pink paint. Boundary trees have two or three strips of orange or pink paint facing into the unit and the unit number painted in orange or pink, facing into the unit. Item 0002 These units are flagged with blue flagging. They are predominantly sapling to pole sized hardwood-dominated stands that were harvested between 1980 and 2001. Delivery Details/Period of Performance The period of performance is August 1, 2022 through December 15, 2023. Note additional timing restrictions on all of Item 0002, in the Somerset area.
