IRAQ LANGUAGE SERVICE PROVIDERS The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) is seeking bilingual Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)/English speakers with backgrounds in administrative and program support to provide language services (translation and interpretation) for its Baghdad, Iraq-based technical assistance program. Successful candidates will be hired under personal services contracts. OTA provides overseas advisors to 30 countries in five functional areas: economic crimes, government debt issuance and management, budget and financial accountability, financial institutions policy, as well as tax revenue and policy. The Language Service Provider (LSP) will provide English to MSA and MSA to English translation of technical documents and interpretation in small groups and conference/workshop settings, and within this context provide limited administrative support, bi-cultural advisement, and assist in project management support for overseas resident advisors. The ideal candidate will have two to three years of translation and interpretation experience, preferably in USG foreign assistance; computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Budgeting or accounting experience (familiarity with financial nomenclature in English and MSA) and completion of US State Department pre-Iraq deployment training is desirable. Hiring is contingent on the candidate's eligibility for medical and security clearance. US citizenship is required. SALARY & BENEFITS: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, starting salaries are negotiable from $90,000 to $120,750.
