R -- Interpreting Services

The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST), Disability Resource Center (DRC), plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide sign language interpreting services to DOT employees with disabilities, as needed. The Contractor(s) will ensure provision of communication via various sign language interpreting methods to DOT employees identified by the DRC. The Contractor(s) shall provide personnel who have sufficient experience, education, training, and skills to meet the requirements of the Employee with Disability’s (EWD) communication needs. DOT employees are located in the metro Washington, DC area and seven other metro (7) regions throughout the continental United States (Atlantic City, NJ; Chicago, IL; Ft. Worth, TX; New York, NY; Oklahoma City, OK; Renton, WA; Kansas City, KS and Vancouver, WA). This acquisition is a small business set aside in accordance with FAR 19.5. Award of one or more five-year competitive purchase orders/contracts – a base year and four option years by December 31, 2005 is anticipated. The Government reserves to the right to issue multiple awards based on the service areas. The solicitation will ultimately be distributed electronically via the Government’s electronic posting Web site at http://www.eps.gov under the Department of Transportation, OST, Acquisition Services. The solicitation has an anticipated release date of on or before November 16, 2005. This presolicitaiton notice is for information and planning purposes only.
